BAP-MI Advanced Skills (CE) + Practicums

Enriched Training in a Stepped-Care Approach to Self-Management Support and Health Behavior Change

14 hours of CE
January/February 2027

Mixed Methods:  8 hours online, self-directed (1-2 hours pre-work per practicum) + 6 (60 min) Live Zoom Practicums

Overview

BAP-MI is a flexible and efficient integrative model of Brief Action Planning (BAP) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).  BAP-MI is designed for use with individuals across the full spectrum of readiness: for those who are ready/nearly ready for change as well for individuals with deep-seated ambivalence about persistent unhealthy behaviors.

This advanced course with practicums is designed to enable clinicians to use BAP-MI in routine practice. The 8 hours of self-directed multi-modal online learning build knowledge and skill with streamlined lectures, video demonstrations, interactive exercises with commentaries, self-assessment quizzes and a final exam with feedback for incorrect answers. Six hours of practicums focus on practicing skills in small groups, building towards clinical application.
