BAP-MI: Advanced Stepped-Care Skills (CE)
This online, self-directed course in BAP-MI offers participants 8 hours of CE.
The course teaches participants how to integrate Brief Action Planning (BAP) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) in clinical practice. BAP-MI facilitates flexible and pragmatic action planning across the full spectrum of readiness: from those ready/nearly ready for change, to those with deep-seated ambivalence about changing persistent unhealthy behaviors. The course includes focused lectures, video demonstrations, interactive (and “kinesthetic” ) exercises with commentaries, self-assessment quizzes and a final exam with feedback for incorrect answers.
MI Center for Change is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists and maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Allied health professionals (e.g. nurses, OT, PT, addiction counselors) will receive certificates of completion, often accepted by professional boards for licensure requirements.
